Strolling along the wonderful Clyde
With a gorgeous woman at my side.
The water, like blood, gives the city its life
As I clasp the soft hand of my future wife.
The Squinty Bridge spans this part of town.
Its arched shape makes me think of a crown.
The studios of the BBC
Stand next to those of STV.
The sun beats down, burning my face
As the Kingston Bridge plays host to a car race.
The Finnieston Crane stands high in his glory.
A reminder of the Clyde's shipbuilding history.
The Science Centre, complete with tower
Is another signal of the river's power.
There is a saying that is known worldwide
That the Clyde made Glasgow and Glasgow made the Clyde.
As I kiss her sweet, red lips
I place my hands upon her slender hips.
Lowering myself onto one knee,
I ask her "Will you marry me?"
Saying, "You are truly a living treasure
And it would really be a pleasure
If you would consent to be my bride
And stay forrever at my side."
She replied, "I dream about that every day.
Especially when you are away.
Yes I will be happy to marry you
And make another life out of two."
We were both born by the river Clyde.
And it relly fills us up with pride.
Now we plan to have kids and let them grow
Where we can see the water flow.
